I need more

As mentioned, I took part in KL Marathon. I participated in the 10km event. For noobs in running, 10km sounds WOW!!! But to professionals, 10km was just 1/4 of the Full Marathon that day, i.e. 42km in total. Oh well, I’m a realistic person, cannot be too ambitious or I may end up embarrassing myself. Although I enjoy running long distance (I can’t sprint for nuts), I’ve never ran further than 7km. So yes, I did it! I COMPLETED 10KM!!! Completed it in 1 hr 24 mins. I was hoping to run nonstop throughout the 10km, but tak boleh tahan, ended up walking a bit here and there T.T

But I crossed the finishing line before Darling! Muahahaha!!!

I’ve been lecturing for 2 months now, and within this 2 months I’ve embarrassed myself TWICE in front of my students. Once, I finished my class late, and I was rushing to sit in the introductory Psych class (This semester, I am observing the Psych lecturer, in order to lecture the next semester). Class had already started, so I tried to enter the class as quietly and slowly as possible. But its completely not possible because I  entered through the front door, right in front of the screen. I tried to TIP TOE into a seat, when suddenly…my leg tripped over a step I didn’t notice, and I went flying forward. A student tried to catch hold of me, but I landed on both my knees. Note that the ENTIRE CLASS was watching me now. Many of them actually gasps. If I was fair skin, if I actually do get blood rush to my face, if the lights weren’t dimmed, everyone would have seen a flushed face. But I still  attempt to maintain my reputation as the cool lecturer, I just stood back on my feet, and calmly take a seat. My knees were scraped and bruised, but I made no attempt to even touch them…

The second time, it happened 2 days ago. I went into my class (my own Study Skills class), and started setting up my laptop. My students were already seated and waiting for me. As i bent down to plug in the laptop cable, I saw something which made me scream and jumped few feet away from the table.

cockroach-3

Can’t believe I’m putting such a picture on my blog, but yeah, to prove my point, I saw that horrible brown THING right beside my cable. I ALMOST TOUCHED IT!!! It was that freaking close! Hell of cos I screamed out loud! Of course the entire class was looking at me. After composing myself a little, I managed to stammer “Can someone please…get…rid…of that thing?”

I had expected one of the boys sitting at the last row to come up front, but for several seconds nobody moved. I couldn’t find the  right words to explain what I meant. Then, this small-sized girl from the first row came forward with a piece of paper, and tried to catch that ROACH for me. I was already halfway out of the class…I wasn’t gonna be in the cockroach’s way should it start flying!

When she caught it, I said “Please throw that thing as far as possible, please???” And I think she did…she came back to class quite a long while later… *shy* She was really my saviour lor…

Sigh…tell me la, what kinda reputation am I building leh?

Anyways…

Life’s been pretty hectic last week, that suddenly without much activities this week, life’s starting to feel stagnant. This week I had not much after-work life, besides dinner with Dear’s uni friends in Sushi Zanmai.

I was obviously the youngest among them all, but hey, at least I’m no longer a student! ^o^ The dinner was to meet up with Bee Ting, one of the Monash gang who’s working in Australia and came back recently

I need to find some extra activities to do la. I wanna volunteer in some organization, if possible related to mental health. Anyone know of any organization  in need of voluntary help by a Psychology graduate?
