My prom evolution

I’ve left my studying life for half a year already, but Prom still doesn’t wanna leave me alone

I had to continue attending it, but this time, my status was that of a lecturer =.=

On Friday the 13th, I attended HMC Annual Ball in Sheraton Imperial Hotel. When I heard that all lecturers have to attend this ball, to me, I was going as part of my job. I was gonna be there due to formality, out of responsibility, nothing significantly meaningful because I was definitely not celebrating any special memories. I had my own fair share of proms…

1st year prom (we had our own private celebration at La Bodega the same night our class mates went for prom)

and 3rd year prom…

See…told you I have had more than enough proms as a student!

But, bet you don’t know how its like to go to a prom as a lecturer…

Well, first difference is, you pose for pictures with your colleagues. Some may be young and single but not available, like myself

 

Some are married and with kids (or on the way)

And you sit on the VIP table where table wine is served, and the waitress serve us the 10-course dishes

And of course, students one by one kept asking you to take picture with them, simply because they cannot imagine their lecturers dressing up in a dinner dress @_@

Of course, what students lagi couldn’t believe was the fact that their lecturers could dance. I danced Tango and Hip hop along with 3 other female colleagues, and boy, I love how supportive and energetic the crowd was! No doubt our skills was probably the worse among all the performances that night (we don’t dance professionally, see) but the shock that we gave the students was so big that they could oversee our mistakes! ^^

My camera decided to run out of battery before the night officially started, so I didn’t have many pictures, or a record of our dance. But I’m gonna get it from my colleague!

I posed for so many cameras that night, but I don’t know how I’m gonna get a copy of those pictures. Students tried to get me to add them on Facebook by saying “You can only get these pictures from Facebook” but no way I’m gonna fall into the trap. I DON’T ADD STUDENTS AS MY FACEBOOK FRIEND. I have my own power as a lecturer….ngek ngek ngek…
