Day Trip to My Hometown

Hello everyone!!!

i'm having semester break now but still as little updates as during busy busy days. there are days that i'm totally free and bored and got nothing to do, i would feel that my days have nothing to blog about. then there would be days when i had been out having fun that i come back all tired and lazy to blog. conclusion of the story? blogging is such a chore.... >.<

anyway, i so have to blog bout my Taiping trip. yeah yeah, Taiping is my hometown, been going back every other time, so why so special this time? well, thats because its a day-trip date with my Darling!!!

we left house in the morning, taking turns to drive. i managed to beat my previous speed record by going 150 km/h. muahahha!!! i cant wait to get my own sports car next time, and further break my own record! if only we were driving at night, then Darling would have allowed me to go even faster....*sob sob sob*

we had Daim caramel chocolate snack for breakfast in the car, cos we were saving our stomach space for Taiping's food! memang this trip is plainly for F.O.O.D.!!! after 3.5 hrs of rumbling tummy, we finally reached! immediately rushed to the market place before the stalls close. Taiping business hours are really weird...most food stalls are closed by 12 noon. Dear was scratching his head cos they're closing down when lunch time just started. i guess Taiping people are super early birds, who get busy at 7am even on Sundays, and all go home to cook their own lunches?

we reached bout 12.30pm, and the kuih i was craving for no more liao! in Hokkien i call it Chai Dao Kueh, directly translated as Vegetable Bean kuih. it looks and tastes like fried carrot cake, similar but different. haha the irony of my sentence! anyway, that's not the only food we drove 360km for...

Dear and i were ordering like crazy as soon as we reached the hawker center.

oh man, with a grumbling stomach and a happy eating company, those food taste even better than ever!

after first round of lunch, i brought Darling to another place to try a very special noodle...Curry Laksa+Assam Laksa mix together...but the stall close ady. ish ish. so next stop, i brought Darling to this other shop..

oh dammit! finish liao too!!! suppose to tarpau their Kakak special coffee for Darling, which is Nescafe+Barley, but finish ady =(

so forget eating la, i brought Darling to Taiping's main attraction, the B.M.W. place!!

Bersih, Menawan dan Wangi, B.M.W.!!! wakakakaka!!!! not only Taiping food taste good, even Taiping toilet smells good!

ok la, the famous attraction is.......Taiping Lake Garden! Dear actually haven't heard of it before...cis....he even ridiculed it, asking if the lake garden is bigger than our neighborhood's playground. at the end of the day, he was so awed by this legendary lake garden....

this place is just filled with of serenity, tranquility, and beauty...and no entry...

after a hot sunny day in the park, of cos we need something refreshing to cool our bodies...

a chun bowl of cendol! the shaved ice quenching our throat, the milky drink not too sweet not too diluted, the kidney beans not too hard not too soggy, the green cendul not too tough not too flour-y. oh just perfect! its been passed down for generations okie...most of these food stalls had been around since my parents were young. if they are still in business at their 3rd generation, they are obviously good enough to make profit right? ^o^

after finishing our cendol, i brought Darling to buy "Hiao Piah" or Heong Peng in Cantonese. Penang is famous for their Biskut Tambun, Taiping is famous for its Biskut Jeli Gula. this trip, Darling paid for petrol and toll, i belanja all the food and Heong Peng souvenirs! wee~ so happy i made Darling's tummy happy!!!

we left for KL at 3.30pm. which means we drove for 3.5 hrs to eat and tour Taiping for 3 hrs, then drive back again for another 3.5 hrs. people may call this impractical and waste of money, but the excitement in this kinda impromptu dates and the freedom of exploring a new place with Darling makes everything worth it. this is the first time i'm in my own hometown without my family, and having the freedom to decide where i wanna go and what i wanna eat. this is also the first time i find my ways around Taiping's roads on my own. Darling said my sense of direction is not bad for someone who comes here once a year. in fact, he said i have the best sense of direction among all the girls he knows!! *big proud smug smile*

ok lor, i wanna get back to my Korean soap opera. i started the first episode of Stairway to Heaven last week, i cried my eyes out in that very first episode, and im addicted to the entire series now. its really really so so heartbreaking...

From smiling at the thought of Taiping date, to crying at the thought of Korean girl,

Sel
