I watched The Notebook last night…
Yeah very outdated, its a 2004 movie staring Ryan Gosling
and Rachel McAdams
The movie’s storyline kinda cliche, bout how a guy and a girl fall in love, but the girl’s parents don’t consent because the guy was just a manual laborer, he could not match their daughter’s status. And they shipped their daughter faraway to study. Fate would helped them meet each other again, and love would prevail
Cliche as it was, it was really touching seeing how much the guy would sacrifice for the sake of love. He wrote letters to her every single day for a whole year, although the girl’s mother confiscate those letters so he received no reply. He waited for her for 7 yrs, not able to find another woman because noone attracted him the way the girl did. On the other hand, the girl found a new love in the big city that she studied in, and he was of the same social standard as her that her parents consent to their marriage.
It got me thinking…to wait for someone for 7 years without receiving any response? Although girls are supposed to be the more romantic, more emotional half, i’m logical and practical when it comes to relationships. Or anything in life, actually. Doesn’t make any sense to wait around and do nothing with your life waiting for someone who may or may not even come back to your life.
No doubt this is just drama, over-exaggerating the value of love, but i know that there ARE people who puts love first, who completely believes that love prevails through thick and thin, who would sacrifice a whole lot of things in the name of love. Makes me think…how much would i do for love…i know i’ve given quite a lot of advice that “Love alone won’t make a relationship last”
So…what do you think? Sacrificing for love is foolish or romantic? ^^

I know I won't wait indefinitely :)
@_@ EVo, i took a few seconds to deciper 'won't wait indefinitely'
AW SO SWEET. lol
Well, like u said, it's only a movie, and all movies are so idealistic but sadly after watching the movie, it's time to snap back into the realistic side of it.
If u know that person is meant for you, there's no harm in waiting even if it means separation or distance. If the person is not willing to wait, how is he gonna bear with marriage lol.
Then again, this is coming from a person that didnt make a good judgement before this, it's just my POV =)
I think someone who will wait indefinitely is one who believes in "fate" and "destiny", that it has been planned for he/she to live with that special someone. Even if they can't foresee a future together at this point in time, their path will still cross if they're meant to be.
Hey EG....awwww so shweet! now we all know your beliefs when it comes to relationship, aye?!?! ^^ nothing bad at all! especially for the lady!!!
