Usually I go to Starbucks only to order a cup of coffee and then sink my butt comfortably in a corner to do work. It used to be studying for an exam or reading journals to write a research paper, but now its to mark assignments and exam papers.
If I am hungry and wish to eat food while doing work, I would immediately eliminate Starbucks as an option, because I always ignore the fact that Starbucks serves food.
However, last Saturday I tagged along with Dear to Starbucks food review in Damansara Uptown, and was served with so much food that we were struggling to finish up!
Its not a blogger’s review unless we spend the first 15 minutes taking pictures of ALL the food from ALL possible angles. I pity the staffs for taking the effort to heat up some of our pastries cos by the time we sank our forks into them, it was barely warm
Although these photographers supposed to take picture of the food and drinks, they usually terpesong hala…
Their attention were captured by a little rat
>_<
Of course, we started off with drinks.
We were introduced to the 2 new drinks in their Christmas menu..Peppermint Mocha and Toffee Nut Latte. Dear had Peppermint Mocha Frap…and it was…*slurp* fantabulously addictive! I had my Toffee Nut in iced latte…i felt it was too sweet and the Toffee flavor overshadowed the coffee flavor. Seriously, the Peppermint Mocha is highly recommended! Few days ago I ordered again, this time its hot Peppermint Mocha, oh just as orgasmic whether its hot or cold~
Together with drinks, we were served savoury, hot pastries…
My absolute favourite, shepherd’s pie. Usually shepherd’s pie contain lamb meat, which I’ll avoid altogether, but this is chicken. And the mashed potato on it…ohhhh…*drools thinking of it*
Bagel sandwich – this is pretty good, i like the egg and cheese combination. But the pastry isn’t too fantabulous
Chicken pasta stack – this is the one that looks the most appealing (anything with cheese, especially melted cheese, immediately wins my heart), but it has too much pasta inside that kills the cheese flavor
Toasted sandwich – hot melted cheese on crispy toasted bread, juicy sliced sausages, no complain at all
Butterscotch Cinnamon Roll – the words “Butterscotch” and “Cinnamon” always capture my tummy, but the nuts completely overwhelms my tastebuds. And I don’t like nuts =( I felt the pastry was a little too dry as well
This is Kapitan Chicken Pie, the one everyone else finds good (besides Shepherd’s Pie). It’s like curry puff, but the pastry is really light yet crispy with strong butter fragrant. Even the Ozzie Sausage Roll has similar pastry
We were also served with sweet, cold, creamy cakes…
Marble cheesecake
Choc tuxedo – choc mousse and cheese cake
Blueberry cheesecake
Lemon cheesecake
Espresso tiramisu
Peanut butter creme brulee
When I first got there, I just had a heavy lunch, so cheesey cakes and creamy drink did not appeal much. But after burning a lot of energy talking and laughing (especially of Marcus doing the Wondergirls dance), I was munching the cake more and more. I would first dig into the marble cheesecake cos the chocolate is tempting. Then when I began to felt slightly full, i then nibble on the Lemon cheesecake. The sour flavor would then reinstate my appetite, allowing more space for further nibbling ^o^
I didnt like the Tiramisu much, but I usually dun like Tiramisu anyway. The bestest was Peanut Butter Creme Brulee,..everyone dug in and finished it so fast that it definitely wasn’t part of the unfinished bits left on the table of overstuffed bloggers *nyum*
After so long not joining social events, I really enjoyed meeting up with people again. Now that my Australia’s event is over, my job title is back to “lecturer” full stop. No more “lecturer aka event planner aka fund raiser” =.=
Alrightey, time to get to work. Cikgu signing off!!!
