Jeng jeng jeng~
I’ve officially graduated from HELP University College!
Although I had been working for almost 1 whole year (I have been converted from contract staff to permanent staff)
Maybe cos it has been that long since I felt like a student, maybe it was because very few of my close friends decide to attend the convocation ceremony, but I didn’t feel very enthusiastic about the whole thing (though I’m not complaining about the price that I paid, because I paid a mini fraction of what the other pays, something known as staff price)
My colleagues were super excited…they were planning what I should wear beneath my robes…weeks in advance. Ms. Winnie said that I should wear long pants instead of short skirt, because it doesn’t look nice when a little legs can be seen beneath the hem of the robe. Yee Chen was asking me to wear a cheongsam underneath, cos her classmate wore that during her convo, and she looked elegant.
I kept on insisting…”The robe will cover everything! What for bother about what clothes I wear inside?!”
When I came home, my mom was also uber gun cheong about what clothes I should wear. She even suggested that I go shop for a new blouse
*roll eyes*
*but secretly very pleased that everyone is so happy for me*
^o^
Well, I’m glad I went. Got to meet up with all the people I haven’t kept in touch with for so long!
And the happiest part of the entire event, is that Darling came along, together with Mom and Dad. The 3 most important people in my life watched me go up the stage to collect my cert
It was weird, bumping into my students at my own convo. A few of them were there because their older siblings were graduating too. I bet it’s even weirder for them, seeing their lecturer as someone of higher authority (and perhaps much older in age, in their mind) suddenly appearing as a fresh graduate in a convo.
The next day, I went to collect my convo pictures in HELP’s main block, and a student was there. He saw me holding my convo pictures, and asked me “Eh!!! Miss, is that you? How come? Your Masters’ convo ah?”
=.=”
So sorry to disappoint him, but it was great fun watching his confused expression when I said “Nope, its my Bachelor’s convo. I just graduated this past Sunday”. Before he could digest that piece of information properly and come up with further questions, I walked away. Wuahahahahha
But you know, I don’t want to completely get rid of my student status. I’m making plans for my next step already. After a year, I’m ready to think about continuing Masters, something I was very reluctant to consider as soon as I finished my Bachelors. We’ll see how things go… =)
Adios! (I’m currently learning Spanish)
