Valentine's...

love is in the air, so soon it is time for the very controversial yet very sought after celebration...Valentine's Day...

last year at this time i was pouting miserably at home because my Darling was in a land far, far away, called India. he was busy traveling from town to town, companies to companies, visiting potential and current clients, while overcoming the culture and emotional shock at the same time. as for me, spent Valentine's with my then single friends in college. i saw people receiving flowers and gifts in college, and i feel envious but not jealous, because i know Dear would make me feel happiest of them all

and true enough, he made up to his absence. oh he surely made that Valentine's the most memorable in my life, despite celebrating it a week later. this year, he will be around, and i wonder...i really wonder what's gonna happen tomorrow...

i am also aware that not everyone is excited about February 14. besides those who are single feeling left out of this celebration of love, there are also claims of Valentine's being too commercialized, an insincere expression of love, etc etc. i can understand if long-term couples consider Valentine's as no biggie, because probably the initial excitement stage is over, and they are already in higher stage of commitment level. but can the same reason be used by new couples? *scratched head in puzzlement* to me, it seriously reflects the amount of commitment you have for your partner, your courage to express your love, your willingness to sacrifice time and effort to be with your loved ones. i also do not buy the whole expensive hugeass bouquet of flowers, romantic candlelit dinner, chocolates and teddy bears, etc. i do not mind receiving them, but i would not EXPECT these from my partner. all i want is to spend some time together...

you will see how my Valentine's is celebrated after tomorrow. last year Dear planned the entire day, so this year we agreed to share the responsibility. its a modern world...whoever says the guy has to plan and pay for everything? so, i will be planning the first half of the day, while Darling plans the 2nd half of the day. but then again, he knows most of my plans ady. ish...so unfair!

Valentine's is not all about couples though. i would wanna wish all my dear friends out there, Happy Valentine's Day. consider this a day where people forget rivalry and hatred for awhile, and soak themselves with feelings of warmth and love. just for a day to appreciate the beauty of love among mankind...

okie lu, i've got "work" to do...wait up for my next report!!! ^o^
