Langkawi Post-Mortem

hello everybodieeeee~
yes i know i came back from Langkawi on 30th, so this is a super late post. but if u saw the total number on pictures which we took in our 3 days trip, u'll understand why it took Dear longer than usual to resize them and burn into CD for me =)
as mentioned earlier, Dear and I joined my bro and his friends to Langkawi for free and easy trip. RM350 inclusive of 2 nights accomodation, bus and ferry fee, on island bus tour, as well as 3 meals a day. not a bad bargain huh? it was organized by my bro's friend, who knew this tour guide from Pearl Holiday Tour Agency. so...we gathered in Ervin's school on Thurs night, where the Bas Persiaran depart at 11pm...
since it was a night bus, i had to wear my specs. and some of Ervin's frens thought i was one of their school teacher!!! @#$&*(&^%%~!!!
DAY 1 - 28th December, Friday

after a long ride, we finally reached Kuala Perlis jetty bout 6.30am. i think even the first ferry hasnt arrived yet. so so sleepy...

we cleaned up and changed in the jetty's toilet...eeee....dark and dirty! we rather eat our own homemade sandwich than to buy other food

finally our ferry arrived!!! this is our entire troupe...comprising of 28 Form 4 students from Tsun Jin Independent School, 1 engineer, 1 future psychologist, and 1 tour guide

OMG!!! my feet finally touched Langkawi's land!!! oh what a nice jetty compared to the Kuala Perlis one!

we got into another Bas Persiaran booked by the tour agency. seriously, all the buses provided by tour agent is super chun!

first activity in Langkawi is island hopping! this is the first island we "hopped", called Pulau Beras Basah. the name came about when the Siamese hid their BERAS on this island, but all rice were BASAH when high tide covered the entire island. logically, when the entire island was submerged, would the beras only get basah, or totally hilang? =.=

the second island we were supposed to "hop" but only watched from afar was Pulau Singa Besar. we could not land on it cos it has been converted into Reserved Island, aka Protected Land No Trespassing. but the view on the boat itself was mesmerizing...i had never seen so many eagles before!

after watching eagle, we went fishing! but before u get any grand ideas, look at my "fishing rod" yep...just a coil of nylon string with hook and bait, minus the rod @.@ and the size of the fishes we caught? smaller than the size of my palm...

the third island was Pulau Dayang Bunting. look, do u see the mountains forming the outline of a pregnant lady lying on her back?

there's a fresh water lake in the middle of this little island, which made the geographical landscape of this Pulau Dayang Bunting really amazing. and legend has it that women who drinks water from this kale will get pregnant. hmmm...then how come there were never any Virgin Mommies from M'sia?

the view of the lake behind me

after a continuous day since we reached Langkawi, we went back to our service apartment. it was very comfortable for Dear and I, as we had a queen size bed to ourselves, while the other students had to cram 3-5 ppl in one room. call me "teacher" somemore la...i'll savor my "teacher's privilege" while laughing at u crammed sardines! MUAHAHAHA...

we had dinner in a chinese restaurant, had almost 10 dishes per table. yum yum. then we went SHOPPING!!! duty free!!! omg omg!!! i really went crazy seeing so so SOOOO MUCH CHOCOLATE!!! but of cos, i put others above myself wan mar...so i bought something for schoolmates, one for mom, one for dad, and one for grandma. last last only bought one for myself lor...

wah, tak boleh tahan ady. as soon as got back apartment, i HAD to eat those chocolate!!! so...

Dear and I escaped those bunch of noisy youngsters and savored our Kiwi flavored dark choc by the pool. wah...taste damn good!!! this is what i call a real holiday! but of cos, i still am more concern bout my waistline than my addicted tongue and brain, so i only had 4 pieces of choc. slightly more than usual, but not out of control..

DAY 2 - 29th December, Saturday

Next morning, we had buffet breakfast at apartment's cafe. Dear surprised me with something cute!!!

he brought Vietnam coffee powder, together with special Vietnamese sieve!!!

wooo~! after an experimental breakfast of failed coffee brewing, we anxiously waited for our rented car. yep! Dear and I decided to tour Langkawi on ourselves instead of following the group. after waiting 2 hrs plus and making angry calls to the rental company and last minute switching rental company, we finally got our CLK...

our very proud Cute Little Kancil!!! for a moment it really felt like Dear and I bought our very own car, that i so semangatly cleaned ALL the windows. if i could, i would have give it a good washing, a loving polishing, and a thorough vacuuming! but we had the whole island to conquer within 24 hrs, so with just a 4-yr-old map printed from Internet, we charged off into our 1st destination!!! don't u feel adventurous and excited just listening to me?!?!?!

we found our first stop without getting lost!!!

welcome to Moraic International Go-Kart!!! Vroom Vroom Vroooommmm!!! as a girl who prides herself of her driving skills, i shall not reveal who won this race, or what was my lap timing like...

we paid rm35 for 10 mins of go-karting. i had my vert first taste of go-kart in Langkawi! how cool is that?!?! after that we flew to our next destination!!!

welcome to Underwater World Langkawi! i had been here with my family in primary school days, but boy, traveling with Darling and making our own decisions make the trip 1000 times more fun!

The best part was of cos seeing the Penguins...oh they were just so so adorable!

My own personal breed of Hunny Penguin ^o^

We went back to join the rest in Pantai Tengah, hoping to play Banana Boat and jetski with them. but we find the pricing not worth it, and the rest were contented playing beach rugby, so we took pic a lil...

...and drove off to our next destination!

There are 2 extreme views in Langkawi. one is the very kampung scenery like this:

another is a super high-tech scene like this:

uh huh! 3rd destination on Day 2 is the Cable Car! unlike the one in Genting, where it brings u all the way up, this one has 2 stops, one midway and one highest. the view at the top is simply spectacular! and if u notice the picture above closely, there is a sky-bridge connecting 2 mountains at the highest peak!!!

u can see the entire Langkawi from the top! oooh...there i see Pantai Kok, and Pantai Cenang, and Kuah Town, and the jetty!!!

this is the most exciting part of entire cable car trip. the SKYBRIDGE! we hiked down through the rocky steps from the top station, and wow, the view here is amazing too! although initially we felt rm14 was pricey for a cable car ride (comparing to Genting), but man, u gotta go thru it to say "its worth it!"

next stop, is to find Darling's cousin...

he's a male cousin, called Cousin Macho Monkey >.<

naw, we just accidentally bumped into him as we hiked up to Telaga Tujuh waterfall! *bluek* if u felt disappointed with this view, i feel the disappointment 10 times more. do u know how steep we climbed to get up here? only to see some longkang size spray? Dear and I were initially dying to soak in some cold water after a long sweaty day, but we immediately changed our minds when we see this cutey waterfall...

we stayed only 10 mins to take some pic and to weewee, then its time to go home. i forgot to mention, the CLK which we rented was actually a manual car. of cos it was no problem for me, as i have more than enough daily practice of manual driving. but as for Mr High Maintenance Engineer, who had 7 yrs of driving experience but less than one month of MANUAL driving experience, well u can imagine how "smooth" my ride was. the worse part was, he INSISTED on renting a manual car to practice, and he INSISTED on driving most of the time. although he made my stomach churn several times, he sure looked good behind the wheel... *big fat bwrek at Darling*

ok la, i was exaggerating la. besides the occasional jerk and unsmooth change of gear, he was great! didnt mati enjin more than once!!! and best part is, he improved so so much within the window of 24hrs. seriously great job sayang!!!

we went back to join the rest for dinner, then back to do more dutyfree shopping, and then, it was time for beach clubbing! initially it was supposed to be just Dear and I, but suddenly a few other youngsters wanna tag along too. they also rented a car, so they drove behind us to Pantai Cenang. oh well, poor poor them, they had some KL clubbing image in their head, but the beach bars in Pantai Cenang did not meet their expectations one bit. c'mon kiddos, why would the angmos come all the way to such beautiful beach to swing their heads and shake their asses wild?

i would lurve to sip beer and enjoy that peaceful sound of waves with my sweetie, just like them angmos. but the kids could not stand such inactivity. perhaps they had plenty of energy to release as they only been to the beach the entire day, or they prefer to spend time with their frens back in apartment, or Dear and I were really thinking like old folks...*shudder shudder* whatever it is, Dear and I felt responsible to give in to the kids. but firstly, we negotiated first. since i cannot enjoy my night beach lazing acitivity, i CANNOT miss out Pantai Cenang shopping!!! they gave me 15mins, and i managed to buy a pair of flip flops!!!

so we drove back to hotel, where the kids got noisy and drunk (again). Dear and I were in our room...doing something very naughty and very sinful...

Dear brought out our bar of Kiwi chocolate, and it melted in the sun! since they were all liquity now, better finish it up dun waste lor...

OMG...i really was pigging out so uncontrollably! omg omg..i kept telling myself "cannot keep ady, better dont waste, much finish it all!" and i finished the remaining bar... *look down sadly at my flabby tummy* u tell me la...isnt that naughty? isnt that sinful?

DAY 3 - 30th December, Sunday
ooh...last day lu...last few hours for our feet to feel Langkawi land, for our eyes to see Langkawi sights. we had breakfast, then Dear and I drove to jetty to return our CLK. we're so gonna miss it!!!
we met up with the rest, but suddenly we had a little delay...

the other kid who rented a car, this green Iswara aeroback, apparently had less manual experience compared to Darling. she caused this damage as she made a u-turn. the car rental guy asked for rm350 as compensation. OUCH...what a horrible end to her holiday...

our last picture on Langkawi jetty lu. we came with 2 bags each, but return with so many extra bags...

so we boarded ferry back to Kuala Perlis, and then back into our Bas Persiaran. we stopped in Alor Setar for lunch...check this pic out...

nope, this aint no temple. this is a restaurant where we had our lunch. cool huh!!!

so that was my Langkawi trip...perhaps the sceneries and activities were not as amazing as i described, but my feelings were overwhelmed by the fact that this is the first holiday fully planned and paid by Dear and I. there was no tour group or parents to determine where we'll go and what we'll do. there were no itinerary to stick by or other people's opinions to care for. it was just us, us and us...
